James Bond (007) (the returning Sean Connery) attempts to procure a Lektor cryptography device from the Soviet Union's consulate in Istanbul, while taking on SPECTRE (an international criminal organisation), who want revenge for the killing of Dr. No.
Rosa Klebb (a memorable Lotte Lenya) chooses a trained killer to assassinate Bond (an in shape Robert Shaw), while also sending Tatiana Romanova to seduce him (Daniela Bianchi, as a Soviet Consulate clerk.)
FRWL is one of the best Bond films with worthy adversaries (for an on form Connery) a beautiful Bond girl and smart direction by Young.
It's action packed and engaging with an intelligent screenplay. The Orient Express scenes will keep you on the edge of your seat! But as far too often, Bond allows himself to be captured, doh! Still he wouldn't get to use his briefcase otherwise.
First appearance of (the cat stroking) Blofeld, and Desmond Llewelyn as 'gadget man' Q. Bernard Lee returns as M (Bond's boss), as does Lois Maxwell as flirty Miss Moneypenny. The film looks magnificent in technicolor with gorgeous cinematography.
