Goldfinger (1964)

Sean Connery returns as effortlessly cool, super spy, James Bond (007) in this, the third film in the franchise. What many people think is the best James Bond film, it is an excellent film, but Bond doesn't actually do a great deal in it! He spends most of the film captured and it's left to other people to save the day!

The plot: Goldfinger plans to contaminate the United States Bullion Depository at Fort Knox. Featuring two of the best Bond baddies: Gert Fröbe as Auric Goldfinger (a wealthy, psychopathic man obsessed with gold) and Harold Sakata as his henchman Oddjob, who can kill people by sending his bowler hat flying.

This is the introduction of the classic, iconic, Aston Martin DB5 car (complete with gadgets including front firing machine guns.)

Honor Blackman is excellent as Bond Girl Pussy Galore, Goldfinger's personal pilot and leader of an all-female team of pilots known as Pussy Galore's Flying Circus.

With iconic scenes such as the gold painted lady (Shirley Eaton), tongue in cheek humour and plenty of action, Goldfinger still enthralls. The Shirley Bassey theme song is one of the best.
