Director / writer Molly Manning Walker's indie flick is so realistic, you could be forgiven for thinking it's a documentary, that she started the camera (on a group of non-actor vacationers) and said GO!
Walker perfectly captures the agony & ecstasy of being young, both innocence and innocence lost. The highs and lows of a teenage girl, tinged with regret.
Despite the title this is more hard hitting than you might think, asking important questions about consent and where we draw the line.
Mia McKenna-Bruce is fantastic as Tara who heads to the party resort of Malia, with best friends Em (a very good, Enva Lewis) and Skye (an equally good, Lara Peake) There they hook up with Samuel Bottomley's Paddy & his best mate, Badger (Shaun Thomas.)
As hard as it might be to believe, our friends don't always have our best interests at heart. How to Have Sex (a purposely ironic title) is entertaining and fascinating, but perhaps with little re-watch value, once you've seen it.
