Pretty Woman (1990)

Julia Roberts plays a high spirited escort named Vivian, who is hired for the night by Richard Gere's impulsive, elegant businessman, Edward. Charmed by her, Edward hires Vivian for the whole week, as he attends a series of business events, attempting to acquire Jim Morse's shipbuilding company. (Morse, Ralph Bellamy.)

Roberts is terrific in her star making role: see: her hilarious bathtub sing-along and her now iconic shopping spree on Rodeo Drive, as snobbish and rude saleswomen turn Vivian away, only for her to have the last laugh! Will Vivian's childhood fantasy of being rescued by a knight on a white steed come true?

Pretty Woman has great performances, funny dialogue and a wonderful soundtrack. This Cinderella like tale is one of the best rom-com's of the 90's.

Jason Alexander is Philip Stuckey (Edward's insensitive lawyer) and Laura San Giacomo is Kit De Luca (Vivian's wise cracking friend.)

Dedicated to Baby B.
