Telling his life story out of sequence, this fascinating documentary explores both Reeve's achievements and failures, as a dedicated actor, an activist and a family man.
It doesn't sugar coat anything.
Modern interviews with his grown-up children fill in the blanks as well as pre-recorded footage from throughout his life. His terrible, unfortunate horse riding accident is covered in great detail and is often difficult to watch (it's supposed to be.) But despite great tragedy there is also great humanity (and heart) here, witness his wife Dana's loving word's to her then paralysed husband.
Reeves wasn't perfect (who is?) but his selfless research into paralysis has helped and continues to help a lot of people. His acting roles, including the phenomenal role he was most known for are discussed revealing his hesitancy to make the comic book sequels. Heart-warming but also equally heartbreaking.
