The Game Plan (2007)

Narcissistic, American Football star and self confessed Elvis fanatic, Joe Kingman (so just like the real Rock then!) uses parties to cover up for his loneliness, while being surrounded by sycophants, until one day an eight-year-old girl named Peyton shows up at his door, claiming to be his daughter (a superb, adorable Madison Pettis.)

Joe (an excellent Dwayne Johnson) must learn to leave his selfish ways behind and put his new daughter first, while also finding love with no-nonsense Ballet Instructor, Monique (Roselyn Sánchez.)

Disney's The Game Plan is a brilliant family film with real heart (see: Joe serenading a sad Peyton) and superb comedic set pieces (see: the bathtub and the blender scenes.)

Children and adults will find much to enjoy here in a well written screenplay that moves at a blistering pace.

Hilarious and heartwarming, The Game Plan is a true family classic. Stick around for the fun end credits sing-along. Excellent.
