Think Like a Man is based on Steve Harvey's 2009 book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, an acclaimed self help book for women, that claims to reveal the secrets of how men think. A group of female friends attempt to put this to good use against their men who need all the help they can get.
With an all star cast (that give it their all) including: Kevin Hart, Meagan Good, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence J, Regina Hall, Gabrielle Union, Jerry Ferrara, Romany Malco, Gary Owen and Michael Ealy, this enjoyable rom com is similar to Love Actually (2003) in that various storylines (involving potential couples) intertwine as the film progresses.
The film follows four storylines, each one focusing on a particular couple.
"The Mama's Boy" vs. "The Single Mom"
"The Non-Committer" vs. "The Girl Who Wants the Ring"
"The Dreamer" vs. "The Woman Who Is Her Own Man"
"The Player" vs. "The 90 Day Rule Girl"
These storylines are unique with realistic (often funny) dialogue and relatable relationship situations. The smart ending provides clever resolutions. TLaM is a great deal of fun with likable engaging characters.
