Four American soldiers attempt to track down stolen Kuwait gold, in a story that takes place during the 1991 uprisings in Iraq against Saddam Hussein, following the end of the First Gulf War.
Three Kings is an anti-war black comedy starring George Clooney (as Major Archie Gates), Mark Wahlberg (as Sergeant First Class Troy Barlow), Ice Cube (as Staff Sergeant Chief Elgin) & Spike Jonze (as Private First Class Conrad Vig.)
Good tongue in cheek humour and unique, stylistic, action throughout, but silly moments threaten to ruin the fun. Troy is made to drink motor oil (by Iraq interrogator Captain Saïd, Saïd Taghmaoui) and no more is said about it! Another soldier is shot in the collarbone and might not make it.
The four actors are likable companions, with character's, who's conscience starts to get the better of their greed (after seeing the suffering all around them.)
Nora Dunn is good value as Adriana Cruz, a capable news correspondent who is determined to get a good story, while Jamie Kennedy is Specialist Walter Wogeman, a bumbling soldier whom Archie uses to distract Adriana.
