The Gorge (2025)

When Levi (Miles Teller), an elite sniper, arrives at a mysterious gorge, he relieves his predecessor, J.D., a great British, Nigerian Royal Marine of duty. JD (Sope Dirisu) is evacuated by helicopter and executed without explanation. It seems that guarding and knowing what's inside this gorge is bad for your health!

Stationed on separate sides of the gorge, Levi and Drasa (Anya Taylor-Joy), also an elite sniper, aren't permitted to speak, until one day on her birthday, Drasa breaks that command.

Teller & Taylor-Joy have decent chemistry and make us care about their characters. It wouldn't have worked anywhere near as well with different actors - bravo the casting team!

There are some weird, well realised CGI creations, and captivating set pieces – see Levi using a impromptu zip line & someone actually jumping into the gorge!

The other worldly scenery is excellent (with decent cinematography) and the explanation makes science-fiction movie sense. Only at the end does it falter, with a far fetched reveal, but one which will no doubt make the audience happy.

Mixing science-fiction, with (rom-com) romance and action, The Gorge is worth your time.
